There is not really much I can explain about the following activities only that they are a hell of a laugh. Can't swim? don't worry all the water sport activities come with a life jacket as standard.
Doughnuts
Get a few of you having a go on the doughnuts and make a bet that the first one to come off has by a crate of AMSTEL for the rest of the group. Put this bet on and I will guarantee your elbows will be friction burned through holding on so tight. The doughnuts are a good laugh, especially when the speedboat driver does a sharp turn and you tail around at about 50mph. Sometimes the speedboat driver says if you can all stay on your doughnuts for a longer than a minute a free bottle of champagne is in it for you. Believe me this is harder than it sounds, if non of you come off by 50sec's they will absolutely do the most craziest turns to make one of you come off, its a hell of a buzz.
Banana boats
The banana boats have always been a good laugh, but why do you always get that git who comes off every second? and you have to go back around to pick them up. If you are at the front of the banana boat, prepared to be sprayed by saltwater, good fun but leaves your eyes stinging for a while. Everyone is scared from falling off, but It doesn't hurt...remember it's water and not concrete.
Jet Ski
Although I've never been on a jet ski I've heard they are absolutely brilliant, think of them as a motorbike on water. Unlike a motorbike if you come off a Jet Ski you don't get hurt. So If you do decide to hire one....rag it about like crazy. You cannot take the Jet Ski's where you want on the water, there are boundaries, this is so nobody tries to rob them.
Parascending
Ever watched 'you've been framed' when someone is Parascending, the speedboat shoots off and they can't run and end up being dragged down the pier. As long as you can run a little, this shouldn't happen....if it does happen to you be prepared that everyone will be laughing at you when you come back down. Parascending is brilliant, the good thing about it as well is that you can do it with a friend on the same Para shoot.
Scuba Diving
This is a brilliant experience, I use to do it as a hobby. When scuba diving you will have short tutorial on how to scuba dive. This includes underwater signals to communicate and how to control your depth. You will always be with a chaperone (also known as a buddy) who will keep and eye on you, believe me once you've done it you want to do it again and again, the waters are warm and some of the finish are wicked. This is probably my best water sporting activity. You've got to try it once. Then you can say to your mates back home you went scuba diving in the med. Beats Blackpool.
Snorkeling
Cheap and cheerful, snorkeling is brilliant. If you are unsure about scuba diving do snorkeling first, every scuba gets trained snorkeling first to get confidence. The good thing about it as well is that you only need to buy your goggles and snorkel and you can do it when you want. When you snorkel your always afloat because their is constant air in your lungs, so don't be afraid of drowning in deep waters.
Water Skiing
Supposedly brilliant if you get the hang of it. Nobody said skiing on water was easy, but if you ever get the hang of it, the sport is very enjoyable. Be prepared to have a lot of falling for the first few times, this is normal..but sometimes you can be on a role and not fall for at least 10 seconds. Well that's my record, but I am pants at water skiing. Give it a blast.
Bungee Jump
Wow, what a rush...the bungee is a mass adrenalin rush. The worst part is getting yourself to jump, once you've done that you worry if the cords gonna snap. At the end of it you look like you've been on ecstasy for three days. Absolute minter if you've got the balls.
Catapult
Get fired into the air like superman, the catapult is available at the night time as well. This goes for bungee too. There is one thing that scares you though, you have to sign a contract before the catapult to say that if you die...it's nothing to do with the bloke who owns the bungee catapult. But that feeling of getting fired into the air at a maximum speed is one rush. Coming of this, you will look like you've been on acid for 2 weeks.
Cage Catapult
This is actually not that bad, you and your friend get inside a sphere cage..all strapped in the seat and your are catapulted into the air. At the end of it you can buy a video of you and your friend inside the cage shouting censored language. Don't show the video to momma and pops. |
