EATING OUT IN KAVOS

Food and drink:
There are bars by the bucketload, offering beer from £1.50, spirits from £2.50 and cocktails at approx. £4.00. Burgers, kebabs, etc, are available from £2.50 or a civilised sit down meal from £8.00. There are some great restaurants here at reasonable prices, as well as the obligatory McDonalds!

BEST PLACES TO EAT IN KAVOS:

Cheap under 10 pounds:
Jolly Chef
(on the main street). Nice open dining area and a mix of Greek and British food, from sausage and mash to moussaka. Cheap. Under E13 (8 pounds).
Pizza Garden
(on the main street). Huge pizzas and a few other Italian options. Cheap. Under E13 (8 pounds).
Medium under 12 pounds

Medium under 12 pounds:
British Restaurant
(on the main street). Impossible to miss, right opposite the bungee jumping crane and giving a great view of the jumps. British food served up by extrovert Greek waiters. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).
Desperado's
(on the main street). Extremely popular Mexican restaurant, where you can just have a drink if you want (try their margaritas) or a meal of tacos, burritos and the usual hot Mexican offerings.
The Drunken Squid
(on the main street). You wouldn't know it from the name but this is a Mexican restaurant. Order your tequila while wondering whether to have guacamole, burritos, tacos, enchiladas or a fiery chilli. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).
Oscar's
(by the beach). One of the smarter places in town, if you do want a quiet dinner for two. Grills and fish are good. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).
Puff the Magic Dragon
(on the main street). Apart from the name this is a typical Chinese restaurant serving up the usual fried rice, sweet and sour pork, and so on. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).
Raja
(on the main road). Indian restaurant when nothing else will do but a late-night curry. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).
Rooftops
(on the main road). It's the restaurant couples choose for a romantic dinner, with a menu mixing Greek and international dishes. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).
TJ's
(on the main road towards St Peter's). One of the best options in town, with a menu ranging from lobster and steaks to freshly grilled souvlaki and fish, on their charcoal grill. Medium. E13-20 (8-12 pounds).

TOP TIP:
Greek food comes when it's ready, not in any particular order. If you want to have time to enjoy your starter before the main course arrives, let the waiter know.
