Google Map of Kavos / Corfu
Kavos is situated on the southern part of the island of Corfu, opposite the Greek mainland, and is surrounded by flat cultivated land and olive groves. It lies on the edge of an agricultural area and not so long ago agriculture and fishing were the main activities of its small population. Kavos is about 30 miles to the south of Corfu town and it is roughly an hour's drive from there. There are regular bus connections, but there are also boat trips to Parga, on the Greek mainland, as well as to Paxos and Antipaxos, two small Greek islands off the southern coast of the island of Corfu. Another way of going about would be to hire a moped, which would give you the additional advantage of exploring the area at your own pace.
ANTONY Apartments & Studios - Kavos
offers you everything you expect from your vacation on a beautiful Corfu: Calm and rest, images
that fill the soul and senses, comfort and tidiness, and above all the traditional Greek hospitality, a cup of coffee and a chat in our, full of flowers verandas and at a very short distance the town of Agios Georgios, with the famous Greek entertainment ...
But there is yet more to Kavos resortthan just its beach and its nightlife attraction. The surrounding area offers interesting walks and strolls of varying length and difficulty through olive groves, fields or, for the more daring, through wooded land to the headland of Asprokavos or to Arkoudilas. These latter will reward you with breath-taking views from the hills and cliffs of the southern edge of Corfu and, on a clear day, of the islands of Paxos and Antipaxos. You could also visit the ruins of an old monastery near Arkoudilas. The nights at Kavos are far from quiet and not even remotely traditional Greek. The array of restaurants, bars and discos along either side of the main street of Kavos is, in one word, impressive. There are plenty of Tavernas in Kavos offering British menus and there are even a couple of more traditional places if that is what you prefer.
